Get Kristen Stewart’s Makeup Look at 2013 Met Gala!

May 7th, 2013

Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

Matching your eyeshadow to your outfit can be a do when done correctly. Case in point? The gorgeous burgundy eye makeup Kristen Stewart wore at the 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Annual Costume Institute Gala. “I wanted to create a dark punk shape to the eye, but give it some edgy elegance by working in reds, burgundies and blacks. The look came together beautifully with the deep burgundy jumpsuit Kristen wore.” said makeup artist Beau Nelson.

Complexion
“To get her look, I started by massaging Chanel Sublimage La Crème Texture Fine into the face and gently patting Sublimage La Creme Yeux under the eyes for hydration. I applied Chanel Perfection Lumiere Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup SPF 15 in 22 Beige Rose to the center of the face working outwards in small circular motions, buffing the product into the skin. Then used a concealer where needed to cover redness and brighten the under eye area. I contoured the face with Chanel Powder Blush in Plum Attraction under the cheekbones and used Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Baume on the tops of cheekbones for radiant dewy shine.

Eyes
“On her eyes I used Chanel Precision Lip Definer in Framboise as a creme shadow to define the shape and create a strong red base to apply the shadow to. I then used a mix of Chanel Powder Blush in Pink Explosion, the burgundy shadows from Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow in Eclosion and the grey shadow from Chanel Eyeshadow Duo in Misty-Soft to smoke up the eye, then lined the inner rim with a black pencil. On the brows, I used Chanel Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Brun Naturel. I curled the lashes and applied Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir to both top and bottom.

Lips
“On the lips I used Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Colour Lipshine in Ingénue (available June 2013) and Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Attirance.”

Face
Prep skin with VS PRO Airbrush FX Bronzing Primer for a natural, all-over glow. Lightly dust VS PRO Flawless FX Translucent Finishing Powder over entire face for a flawless finish. For touchups, dab VS PRO Anti-Shine FX Oil-Free Mattifier on high-shine areas, like the center of the forehead, nose and chin.

Eyes
Before applying eye shadow, prep lids with VS PRO Lasting FX Eye Shadow Primer to create a smooth and long-lasting base. Hide dark shadows under eyes with VS PRO Camouflage FX Universal Concealer Palette. Apply VS PRO Light FX HD Eye Brightening Pen around the entire eye area and blend up into cheekbones to lighten and brighten dark shadows and conceal fine lines. Using VS Makeup Eye Shadow Quad in Eye Contact, apply the lid color all over lids, blending up into the crease and out towards the outer corner of the eye. Use the same color under the bottom lashes. Apply the highlight color under the brow bone and add a touch to the inner corners to open the eyes. Define upper and lower lashlines with VS Precision Liquid Liner in Black, exaggerating the outer edges for an eye-opening effect. Using VS Brow Pencil and Brush Duo in Brunette, fill in brows for extra definition. Finish with two coats of VS Makeup Volume Lift Mascara in Black.

Apply VS Makeup Luminous Mineral Blush Duo in Meet Up to apples of cheeks for a sexy flush.

2011 Teen Choice Awards Beauty Breakdown: Ashley Greene

August 9th, 2011

Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

Ashley Green looked ultra sleek last night at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards with bronze eyeshadow, glowy cheeks and a red lip. Keep reading for a breakdown of her makeup by celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali!

Ashley Green makeup at 2011 Teen Choice Awards
Face
“The Teen Choice Awards is a daytime event which means the red carpet is hot. I used foundation and concealer sparingly, keeping the skin as fresh and light as possible. On Ashley, I applied mark Min-A-Real Cream-To-Powder Foundation with a brush and then blended it with my fingers. Next, I applied mark Conceal For Real Long-Lasting Hook Up Concealer under Ashley’s eyes. To lightly enhance the bronze in her natural skin tone, I applied mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder to her temples, under the cheekbones and under the jaw line.”

Eyes
“I applied a sheer wash of mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Tiki to Ashley’s lids, blending just over the natural crease and extending outward to open and elongate her eyes. I continued with Tiki under the bottom lashes to really intensify Ashley’s blue eyes. Next, for a hint of nude shine, I added the Gold Vert shade from the mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow Iconic duo to her brow bones. To define and elongate the lash line, I lined her upper eyelids with mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Jet Set. For added depth, I used mark On The Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner in Cleo at the very base of the lashes. For full, feathery lashes I applied a few generous coats of mark Lash All You Want High-Volume Mascara in Black.”

Cheeks
“I used mark Good Glowing Custom Pick Powder Blush in After Glo on the apples of Ashley’s cheeks for a soft healthy flush. As a highlighter, I added a touch of mark Glowdacious Illuminating Powder to the peak of her cheekbones and down the center of her nose to give her skin a luminous glow”

Lips
“I used my fingers to stain Ashley’s lips with mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Whiney, followed by mark Lipclick SPF 15 Color Shine Lipstick in Glama on top.”
