Lead artist Diane Kendal gave skin a bare matte finish with Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activity Serum and Nude Miracle Liquid-to-Power Makeup. She slightly defined the cheeks with Solaire Star Bronzer and the eyes with Fresh Face and Barely There from the upcoming Jason Wu for Lancome Multi-Palette and added Grandiose Mascara on curled lashes. She finished the look with Lancome L’Absolu Rouge in Delicate Lace.

On the nails, manicurist Deborah Lippmann created a modern nude look with Lancome Vernis in Love in Beige Romance.

Hair-wise, Odile Gilbert working for Kérastase Paris created a sexy, natural look with no volume at the crown. Starting with wet hair, Gilbert applied Kérastase Spray à Porter Buildable Texture Spray from roots to ends and blow dried with a diffuser, using fingers to enhance natural texture without adding volume at the roots. She parted hair in the middle and used a curling iron to create waves in the mid-lengths of the hair, leaving the ends straight. Next, she applied Kérastase V.I.P. Dry Volumizing and Texturizing Spray for texture and ran fingers through the waves to create a natural look before finishing with Kérastase Laque Dentelle Flexible Hold Hairspray.

“I wanted to create a hair look that was completely multi-dimensional, that appeared very different according to perspective and where the dynamic was brought to life with movement” said Eugene.

Eugene created a series of sectioned ponytails that were “stacked” upon each other to create a thinner profile which gave an aerodynamic appearance. The profile from the front of the head was small and tight with a degree of shine, this transformed towards the back of the head to a contrasting textured, raw effect.

However, it was when the girls walked on the catwalk that the genius of this look was revealed, as soft pieces of hair from the sides of the head morphed with the textured ponytail to create a streamlined, sporty, minimal look that seemed to have a life force of its own.

Get the Look
Step 1. Start with clean freshly washed and conditioned hair, using Wella Professionals Enrich Shampoo and Conditioner, to ensure hair is in perfect condition.

Step 2. Spray hair with Wella Professionals Perfect Setting Blow Dry lotion and dry with a flat brush keeping the hair flat and smooth.

Step 3. Spray hair with Wella Professional Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray, and run through with straightening irons.

Step 4. To create a stacked ponytail, clip hair away on the top of the head and take a section of hair nearest to the nape (around 15cm) and bring hair together with a soft bristle brush and tie in to a ponytail with a long piece of elastic.

Step 5. Repeat this process working up through the head and tying each ponytail on top of the other.

Step 6. When you get to the first of the final four pony tails, take a palm full of Wella Professionals Extra Volume Mousse and press it in to the roots of the hair, before tying in to the ponytail – don’t brush the mousse section as this needs to have texture.

Step 7. On the final section of hair – do not attach to the ponytail, apply the mousse then take the straightening irons and run through the end of the hair section and let it fall on top of the stacked ponytail.

Step 8. Ensure that there are some wispy pieces to the sides of the head and again run the straightening irons through these to give direction towards the back of the head.

Step 9. Finally, spray Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray in to the ponytail, blast with the hairdryer then finish with the straightening irons to create a dry textured finish.

Step 10. Spray the front of the hair with Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray to set the look.

How To Get Kate Beckinsale’s Hair and Makeup at Total Recall Premiere

August 5th, 2012

Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

With the help of makeup artist Molly R. Stern and hairstylist Mara Roszak, Kate Beckinsale once again wowed us at the premiere of “Total Recall” earlier this week. See how to recreate the look at home after the jump!

“Her look was edgy and undone while still looking flawless for a big Hollywood night out. Wearing a reptile printed Armani Prive dress, Kate left looking like a serpent goddess,” explains Molly.

Molly started by prepping Kate’s skin with Jurlique Rose Water Balancing Mist, followed by By Terry Serum De Rose and Arcona Eye Dew. For a sheer yet luminous finish, Molly used Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation. Next, she applied Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Color in Oleander to the apples of Kate’s cheeks and dusted NYX illuminating Bronzer in Magnetic high on the cheek bones to reflect the light.

On the eyes, Molly started with NYX Cream Shadow in Gunmetal on the lid then brightened the shade by dusting the olive green shadow from YSL 5 Colour Harmony for Eyes in Garden of Eden all over up to crease. Next, she popped the inside of Kate’s lid with Beauty is Life Perfect Shine Eyes in Palmery. To define Kate’s lash line, Molly applied Hourglass Calligraphy Black Eyeliner as a base and topped that off with Glam Liner Aqua Luxe by NYX in #08 which is a golden olive color. Molly lined underneath the lashline with the same olive liner to get a smudgy finish that would last all night. She curled Kate’s lashes with Shu Uemura lash curler and then applied two coats of Laura Mericer Full Blow Volume Lash Building Mascara.

To finish off the look, Molly applied Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Canvas, blotted that off then added the NYX Glam Lip Gloss in #07 VIP.

Taking inspiration from Kate’s structured dress, Mara created a texturized look that is “edgy and undone, with an effortless feel.”

Step 1. Prep and Texturize
Achieving the undone quality of Kate’s hair relies on creating texture while preventing flyaways. Start by evenly applying John Frieda Frizz-Ease Curl Reviver Styling Mousse through towel-dried hair to tame frizz, boost shine and build texture. For added volume, spray roots with a texturizing spray and rough dry.

Step 2. Secure the Style
Next, twist small sections of hair to create tousled texture. Once hair is completely dry, gently tease the crown for a bit of height. Next, pull hair back create a loose braid. Tuck the ends under and pin in place with bobby pins, crossing the pins to secure the look and make sure the braid stays in place. Allow pieces in the front to fall out and frame the face.

Step 3. Polish and Perfect
To finish the look, spray John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm-Hold Hair Spray on your fingertips and pinch sections while rubbing your fingers together on the hair to add more texture and break up the look. Then in an even, all-around motion, mist a thin coat of hair spray to set the look.

Dianna Agron @ 63rd Emmy Awards – Makeup & Dress Photos

Dianna Agron as she arrives at the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards on September 18th, 2011.

Hair Breakdown

Jenny Cho, Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist gives Dianna Agron a graceful, romantic up-do. “My inspiration for Dianna was the classic Grace Kelly. I wanted a hint of wave around her face to give her that elegance. Dianna recently cut her hair into a shaggy bob, but anything is possible when you have the right products” says Cho.

  1. Mist Suave Professionals Volumizing Root Boost Spray all over and layer on Suave Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream for a polished finish. The spray is great for creating texture to give hair some grit. Create a side part and blow dry with a small round brush.
  2. With a medium-sized curling iron, curl the heavy side vertically and pin to cool. Spray each section with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray.
  3. Spray Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo on the rest of the hair. Take a 1 1/2 inch section in the back and make a ponytail. Tease the ends and pin away.
  4. Tease the crown area and gently brush to create a bump. Mist a little hairspray and incorporate the ends into the bun and pin. Pull the sides into the bun as well.
  5. Once cool, unpin curls and with a small Mason Pearson brush, lightly brush out the curls, creating a soft bend. All you want is a little lift and softness around the front. Mist the whole shape with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Extra Hold Hairspray for an all-night hold.

Skindinavia Original Makeup Finishing Spray Review

July 13th, 2010

Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

So long MAC Fix+ ! You have been officially replaced by my latest HG, Skindinavia Original Makeup Finishing Spray. Utilizing a time-release cryogenic technology, the Makeup Finishing Spray helps to extend makeup wear and color hold for up to 16 hours. Simply put, it works by lowering makeup’s temperature to prevent makeup from melting or sliding. The spray is also oil-free, paraben-free, color-less and comes with a nice, breathable scent. Like most makeup-setting sprays, this does an excellent job toning down cakey foundation, freshening makeup and creating a dewy look. But what …
