Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

Julie Bowen is another celebrity that it is difficult to believe is over 40.   Last night Julie won an Emmy for her supporting role in Modern Family and she looked stunning in an Oscar de la Renta gown, and her skin looked flawless as well.    Her face was prepped by makeup artist Heather Currie using Votre Vu products.   Heather shares with us what she used on Julie’s skin.

“I started prepping Julie Bowen’s skin for the Emmys by applying the Luxe Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm from Votre Vu’s Duette, a hand cream/lip balm duo. I usually like to begin with lip balm when getting a celebrity ready for the red carpet to allow the moisture to really set in while I start on the rest of the face.

Then, I used Votre Vu Fleur Blanc Tonic for all skin types, swiping it over Julie’s skin to make sure that it was clean and ready for additional skincare.

I then used Votre Vu’s Attentive Sérum Delicat Pour Le Visage to nourish her skin and applied Votre Vu Tragic Magic Rescue Crème. The Tragic Magic gave a nice, subtle glow to Julie’s skin and is great for preventing any skin irritation or reactivity.

To finish Julie’s skincare prep and keep her eye area looking fresh, I applied Votre Vu Tout le Monde Antioxidant Eye Gelee to the eye contour.

After starting the makeup application with foundation, I began on the eye shadow, using Votre Vu’s Sweep Gentle Eye Makeup Remover to clean up any makeup that fell to the under eye area with a cotton swab.

When I finished Julie’s makeup, I applied a little of Votre Vu’s Luxee Yeux Eye Beauty Balm high on her cheekbones, just under the eyes, for a little bit of glow. I completed the look with a few spritzes of Votre Vu’s À Votre Santé Elixir Essentiel to set the makeup.

Before Julie left for the red carpet, I used Votre Vu’s Champagne Kisses Enhancing Lip Balm to enhance her lips prior to applying lip-gloss.”

Sophia Vergara (age 39) looked amazing at the Emmy’s.  Her dress by Vera Wang was one of my favorite of the night and most likely one of the best red carpet looks on her.  But, not everything she was wearing was expensive designer.  Her makeup look was done by makeup artist Kayleen McAdams and it’s all budget beauty CoverGirl.

Here is how Kayleen says she created the look:

Skin:
I started with a concealer (COVERGIRL Invisible Concealer in Honey) under her eyes and then wherever she needed a little extra coverage.  I then used COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Foundation in Soft Honey (#255) and set that with COVERGIRL’s Clean Pressed Powder in Warm Beige (#145)

I then used COVERGIRL’s Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach and set that cream blush with COVERGIRL’s Classic Colors Blush in Natural Glow.

Eyes:
COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eyeshadow in Hot Toffee in the crease

COVERGIRL Liquiline Eyeliner in Black Fire along the top and bottom lash line

COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eyeshadow in Black Tie along the top and bottom lash line to set the eyeliner

COVERGIRL Lash Blast Volume mascara in Very Black

Lips:
COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Rapture (#280)
