Over the weekend, I met with Bulgarian beauty Adriana for a shoot. She was super cool and open to colors, and when she picked out a pair of blue polka-dot lashes from my Halloween collection, I decided to go all the way with a glitter fuchsia lip and tropical colors on the eyes. Jealousness Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Review, Swatches and Photos

Want the longevity of a gel eyeliner but the ease of a pencil? Then check out Taiwanese-based Jealousness Waterproof Gel Eyeliner, which has already stirred up quite some buzz in Asia!

With a cute pink and gold packaging, the Waterproof Gel Eyeliner boasts a formula that is both waterproof and smudgeproof. It measures roughly 12.5cm long, which is a little shorter than MAC eyeliners.

There are 8 colors to choose from, including your regular black and brown in both cream and shimmer finishes, along with white, purple, silver and navy.

I was sent the Diamond Heart and Electric Eye Gift Box Set to try out, which contains a sharpener and 3 colors:

• BKS Diamond Black, an intense black with tiny specks of gold.
• BK Smoked Black, a charcoal with tiny shimmer.
• BNS Sparkling Brown, a chocolate brown with tiny specks of gold.

The colors are all versatile and will work on any eye color. I like using BKS and BK along the upper lashline, while BNS is perfect on the lower lid for a bit of definition without being harsh. They are also nicely pigmented, with my only gripe being that the glitter did not show up as much I wanted it to.

Thanks to its gel core, the pencil has an uber soft texture. It applies smoothly without scratching my eye and is easy to use, even for beginners.

The pencils are also truly waterproof. Once the color sets, it will not budge even if you run water over it. On my dry skin, it also manages to stay on all day until I remove it with an oil-based remover. But on a friend who has oilier skin, the color did seem to migrate a little after a few hours.

Eco-friendly Canadian brand Sula Beauty has finally made its way to the US!

The 7-piece makeup collection contains a variety of products for the eyes, cheeks and lips, including Lipstick, Lip Gloss, Lip & Cheek Tint, Blush, Eyeshadow, Eye Crayon and Creaseless Cream Shadow. All products are made with natural ingredients including jojoba oil and Shea butter, along with vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5 to fight against free radicals. They are also free of parabens, phthalates, silicones and petroleum byproducts and are cruelty-free.

The first thing that caught my eye was the white with floral print packaging. It is one of the prettiest I have ever seen, especially for a drugstore brand. There is also a nice, wearable range of colors that are suitable for different skin tones. The lip and cheek products come in mostly peaches, corals, pinks and reds while the eye products cover a wider range of colors like silver, gold, purple, teal, blue, pink and green.

The Lip Gloss is handsdown my favorite product from the line. It applies smoothly and has a creamy texture that feels moisturizing and non-tacky, just like MAC Cremesheen Glass. Pigmentation is also excellent and the color shows up exactly like what you see in the tube.

The Creaseless Cream Eye Shadow has a slightly drier texture and goes on semi-sheer, giving a buildable wash of color. While I like the softer effect it gives, it does have a tendency to crease and fade after a few hours.

The same goes for the Eye Crayon. It goes on sheer just like the cream shadow and does fade a bit. But I do the fact that it glides on so easily without tugging the skin.

Finally, the Blush is a gorgeous powder with very fine shimmer. It goes on really silky with great pigmentation and the best part? The color stays on all day.

Overall, I think Sula Beauty is a great line with wearable colors and I highly recommend their Lip Gloss and Blush. Oh and did I mention, everything only costs $8 a pop?

I don’t really pay much attention (or perhaps, I don’t put much weight on) seasonal trends beyond say lighter colors in spring, vibrant shades in summer, vampy shades in fall, reds for the holidays… but I don’t subscribe to bright line rules. I guess I’ll rock tropical colors no matter what season it is!
