Every modern woman wants to know how to do her makeup quickly and how to get it to stay on. Our long-wear collection is perfect for the busy woman who has just a few minutes to do her makeup in the morning—and needs it to look good all day long.

Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara ($24.00)

Our longest-lasting mascara not only delivers lush, thick lashes but also ultimate lash definition without smudging or clumping. A specially designed brush applicator fully coats each lash for maximum lengthening, curling and volume for up to 16 hours. Best of all? It removes easily with warm water.

Long-Wear Eye Pencil ($24.00)

Say good-bye to eyeliner that ends up everywhere except where you want it to be. Bobbi’s new Long-Wear Eye Pencil is formulated with special polymers that melt at skin temperature, breaking it into a fluid line upon application for precise and transfer-resistant wear. The densely pigmented water-proof formula imparts a rich color on the lids that’s easy to apply, and stays put for 12 hours without fading.

  • Jet Blackest black
  • Smoke Charcoal gray
  • Black Navy Deep midnight
  • Mahogany Rich brown
  • Black Plum Rich eggplant
  • Hunter Deep emerald green

Long-Wear Cream Shadow ($24.00)

Don’t be fooled by its creamy texture. This formula resists creasing and smearing—and looks flawless at day’s end. Bobbi’s Long-Wear Cream Shadows are made of a buildable formula that delivers rich color with a soft, velvety finish. Easily applied with fingers or a brush, these shadows stay on for up to 12 hours without transferring or creasing.

Runway Beauty: Luxe By Lisa Vogel at MBFW Swim 2012

July 20th, 2011

Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

Make Up For Ever Alliance Artist James Vincent served as key make up artist for the Luxe by Lisa Vogel show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami last weekend. The make up featured a strong eye and soft lip, a perfect match for the modern beach sophisticate inspired swimwear.

Complexion & Cheeks
The skin was sheer with a natural Miami glow. James added Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Blush #13 in pale pink to the cheeks for the most natural looking glow.

Eyes
The smoldering eyes boast a combination of blacks, browns and metallics for a classic look that is young and modern. James first applied Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream #14 (warm satin brown) to the lids, then blended Make Up For Ever Eye Shadows #17 (espresso) and #165 (dark taupe brown) with Make Up For Ever Diamond Shadow #312 (dark copper shimmer) up into the crease. He added Make Up For Ever Metal Powder #1 in sunflower gold on top for added metallic dimension. James then lined the inner rim of the eyes with Make Up For Ever Khol Pencil #1K in black for a bit of rock n’ roll glam.

Lips
The lips were subtle with no hard lines or edges. James applied Make Up For Ever Lab Shine #S6, a soft peach, for a glossy look.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 Review, Photos and Swatches

May 5th, 2011

Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

When one of my makeup buddies raved and raved about Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15, I decided to find out what it was all about.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15
The Skin Foundation comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a pump. It contains light-reflective optics to blur away flaws and a blend of Glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate to attract moisture to skin and lock it in. It also offers broad spectrum UV protection with SPF 15.

There are 17 shades available to cover a wide range of skintones. For my NC30 skin, I use 4.25 Natural Tan, which is a yelllow-based shade a tad darker than my natural skintone.

Compared to most liquid foundations, the texture of this foundation is runnier and thinner, kind of like RMK Liquid Foundation. It spreads easily and applies smoothly, leaving behind a soft, satiny finish.

Coverage-wise, it is light to medium. It evens out my skin beautifully and gives it a radiant, dewy look without ever looking or feeling fake. The foundation does, however, have a tendency to dry quickly so you got to be quick in blending it. I like to squeeze one pump on the back of my hand then apply in a patting motion on half of my face before working on the other half.

Another thing I love about this is the longevity. The foundation wears extremely well with zero fading or shine, even without a setting powder on top.

Highly recommended for young skin or if you are looking for a light-weight, natural-looking foundation with light to medium coverage.

Overall Rating:

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 is available at Sephora, Nordstrom and www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com for $45.

Disclosure: The product in this entry was purchased by me. Please see my Disclaimer for more information on my posting policy.

Celebrity Makeup Breakdown: Taylor Swift at MET Ball 2011

May 4th, 2011

Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

At the MET Ball 2011, Taylor Swift wore her signature red lip with a dramatic smoky eye. Get the breakdown straight from Covergirl makeup artist Lorrie Turk after the jump!

Skin
To perfect her beautiful skin, I used Covergirl NatureLuxe Silk Foundation. It leaves her skin dewy, but not shiny–I love the finish of this foundation. To hide any shadows underneath her eyes, I patted on Covergirl TRUconceal Concealer. I finished her skin by lightly brushing on Covergirl TRUblend Pressed Powder.

Eyes
First, I started on her eyes, brushing on Covergirl Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadows in Golden Sunrise from the lash line to the crease. Then, I applied Brown Smolder from her crease to just below her brow, which gives a very natural, yet dramatic look to the eye. Also, I used Snow Blossom in the inner corner of her eyes to add highlight. I lined the top of her eyes with Covergirl LiquiLine Blast Eyeline in Brown Blaze and smudged it up a bit, and to add more depth just at the lash line. I followed with Covergirl LineExact Liquid Liner in Very Black. On the bottom lash line, I used Covergirl LiquiLine Blast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze and followed with a little of the Brown Smolder Shadow to smoke it up a bit. To finish the eyes, I used several coats of Covergirl LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara in Very Black for a super glamorous look.

Cheeks
I used Covergirl TRUblend Minerals Blush in Shimmering Sands – it gives a shimmery flush of color, which is very pretty.

Lips
For dramatic and long lasting lip color, I used Covergirl LipPerfection Lipcolor in Tempt — this is such a beautiful wine color.
