Post image for The Beauty Brains Are The #1 Makeup Blog For Moms!

Pardon us for bragging, but the Beauty Brains blog was just selected as THE number one makeup blog for moms by Babble.com. I guess you could say we hit the mother lobe! (Get it? mother “lobe” as in “brain” and as in mother load? Like in gold mining when they make a big strike? *sigh* No one enjoys a good pun anymore.

Anyway, we also give a big shout out to the other winners like Beauty Beat, Fig + Sage, and All Lacquered Up, just to a name a few. You can check out all the winners at Babble.com.

And thank you Babblers for being part of the Beauty Brains community!!

Besides the Bosica B.B. Cream SPF 27 PA++ I previously reviewed, another BB cream that debuted at Sephora this summer was Dr. Jart Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF 25 PA++ .

Dr. Jart Water Fuse Beauty Balm
Dr. Jart Water Fuse BB Cream
Made with 50% water, the Water Fuse Beauty Balm is oil-free and uses an advanced Water Bead Technology to help hydrate and maintain healthy moisture for a dewy, fresh look. Ingredients include:

• Octinoxate, Octisalate, Titanium Dioxide to protect the sun against UVA and UVB rays
• Hyaluronic Acid and Sea Water Extract to increase skin’s moisture content
• Aloe & Portulaca Oleracea to soothe, calm redness
• Neutralizing pigments to hide uneven skintone and blemishes

Straight out of the tube, the texture seems to be on the thicker side. But as you blend, it turns semi-watery (you can see actual water beads!) and really quenches my dehydrated combination skin. The finish is dewy and slightly tacky.

Once the BB cream dries off, it feels very lightweight and looks just like skin. The color, which was originally a light neutral beige that is lighter than my NC30 skin, also seems to settle and disappear completely into my skin.

Another thing I loved about this is the coverage. Contrary to some of the reviews I read online, this provided the heaviest coverage for me. With other BB creams, I would always need a bit of concealer on top but with the Dr. Jart, all I need is a light dusting of pressed powder to set.

My only complaint is the lack of whitening/anti-aging/skincare effects, which are typical traits of BB creams and the one thing that makes it different from American tinted moisturizers.

Bottom line, I love Dr. Jart Water Fuse Beauty Balm Cream for its ability to moisturize my skin while providing great coverage and sun protection. But if you are looking to experience a true BB cream, especially for its well-known skincare effects, I would try a different product.

Overall Rating:

Dr. Jart Water Fuse Beauty Balm Cream is available at Sephora for $32.
