How To Get Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Makeup

August 26th, 2011 by Sarah No comments »

Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

On her big day marrying Kris Humphries, the ever gorgeous Kim Kardashian donned a “clean, radiant, feminine, modern and classic” look that consisted of a brown smoky eyes, full brows, pink blush and glossy pink lips. Find out what Kim’s longtime makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic and brow expert Anastasia used to create her look!

Eyes
To play up Kim’s eyes, Mario created a smoky bronze look with Lancome Color Design 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Frenzy. Then he used Lancôme’s new Hypnôse Doll Lashes Mascara in So Black! along with several sets of fake lashes to play up Kim’s signature long lashes.

Brows
To make sure Kim’s eyebrows were perfect for her big day, Anastasia gave Kim’s brows a tweeze, “making sure every hair is where it should be.” On the day, Duo Brow Powder in Brunette was used all over Kim’s arches and Perfect Brow Pencil in Brunette for touch ups on areas that are naturally more sparse such as the front and ends of the brow. Anastasia then set Kim’s brows with Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel to keep them soft and pretty.

Cheeks
Mario swept on Lancome Blush Subtil in Rose Romantique to emphasize Kim’s cheekbones, creating a soft, romantic complexion.

Lips
To achieve the perfect pout, Lancome L’Absolu Nu Lipstick in Coral Sand was topped with Lancome La Laque Fever Lipgloss in Ravishing Coral.

Kanebo Sensai Fluid Finish Lasting Velvet Foundation Review, Photos and Swatches

August 26th, 2011 by Sarah No comments »

Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

This summer, Kanebo Sensai has launched a mattifying version of Lauren Conrad’s favorite Fluid Finish Foundation!

Kanebo Sensai Fluid Finish Lasting Velvet Foundation
Like the original Fluid Finish, the new Kanebo Sensai Fluid Finish Lasting Velvet Foundation comes in a sleek 30ml glass bottle with an easy-to-use pump. It also contains the same ingredients – Phyto-Squalene, Rice Extract, 55% Fuji-Sensui Water, Koishimaru Silk and SPF 15 – to deeply moisturize skin while protecting it from the sun. What’s different is the new “Instant Fitting Oil” that evaporates off the skin’s surface in just 15 minutes so skin is left silky-smooth, moisturized yet matte.

Color selection-wise, there are 8 shades that will cover light to tan skin tones. I have FF 203 Natural Beige and FF 204 Almond Beige, two medium yellow-based shades that I can get away with for my NC30 skin.

The texture of the foundation is one of the creamiest I have ever seen, just like the Fluid Finish. It blends wonderfully with just fingers or a brush and never seeps into fine lines, highlights flakes or creates shine.

In addition, the coverage is divine! The foundation is so pigmented that one small pump (roughly a pea-sized amount) can erase any signs of flaws under my eyes, around the nose and the lips. Hooray for not having to even use a concealer!

The end result is velvety, not overly matte, natural-looking and light-weight – simply made for “non-matte” girls like me! Not to mention, the foundation wears well all day even without a setting powder and touch ups! More love for Kanebo Sensai ♥

Overall Rating:

Kanebo Sensai Fluid Finish Lasting Velvet Foundation is available at Neiman Marcus and for $50.

12 Hair and Makeup Looks Men Hate

August 24th, 2011 by Sarah No comments »

Celebrity Makeup News and Blogs:

Trying to catch the guy at the bar’s eye? It won’t happen if you look like this. In not-surprising-at-all news, men have pretty strong opinions when it comes to women’s hair and makeup. So when we surveyed 100 men to find out which hair and makeup styles they liked the least, we definitely got an earful. The slight hitch: Guys don’t always agree on the looks they love and hate. Some guys love long hair on women, others prefer short. Some go nuts for the “no makeup” look, while others think a red lip is the ultimate in sexy.
